Our Savior’s Lutheran Preschool is built around family. Your child will feel the love and warmth. The seed of God’s love that is planted in your child’s heart will bring joy to your child. It reflects the love of Christ and will be an asset to your child throughout life. Our Savior’s Preschool will help your child discover God’s love and presence that exists everywhere in the world, especially in our hearts. Our Savior’s teachers and staff provide a genuine caring, Christian environment where your child will feel safe, secure, and loved. You will see your child grow in all areas: spiritually, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Our teachers follow the Creative Curriculum which is approved by the state of Illinois and across the country. Creative Curriculum incorporates the Illinois Early Learning Standards and Benchmarks. Our Savior’s Preschool offers your choice of half-day morning programs or full day programs. Both before and after school care programs are also available beginning at 6:45 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m.

Spiritual Development Your child will

Intellectual Development: Our Savior’s Preschool believes life-long learning begins, takes root, and grows during the preschool years. Our teachers follow the Creative Curriculum which is approved by the state of Illinois and across the country. Creative Curriculum incorporates the Illinois Early Learning Standards and Benchmarks. Your child will
· enjoy intellectual challenges

· recognize the alphabet and develop a phonemic awareness
· develop an understanding that words are composed of individual sounds
· work with language concepts to blend and sequence sounds; recognize rhyming words and opposites
· develop an understanding how language functions and the concept of printed
language
· Write his/her name and journal with pre-writing skills
· develop pre-reading skills through listening and visual memory
· sort and graph, classify and develop patterns
· identify shapes and colors
· understand concepts such as least and most
· recognize numbers 1-20 and count to 29
Physical Development Our Savior’s Preschool emphasizes the development of both fine and large motor skills and helps your child realize the need for a strong, healthy body. Your child will
· be energetic
· demonstrate increasing coordination
· demonstrate accuracy of whole body movement
· run, jump, hop, gallop, skip, march
· develop accuracy when throwing and catching
· hold a pencil properly
· cut with scissors
